MALABON IBC ON MEDICAL MISSION

Malabon City, METRO MANILA – FOR more than a month now, the Malabon International Baptist Church (MIBC) is on medical mission in the local communities and in Metro Manila jails. Dr. Pio S. Tica, senior pastor of MIBC in a recent interview said, “ Our medical team is led by two brethren from Scotland who underwent special training on the use of medicinal cream which they brought to treat patients with various skin diseases such as scabies, eczema and similar skin ailments. Evangelization is done hand-in-hand with the treatment session.”

Sandy McCloud, a retired Electrical Engineer and a deacon in the First Baptist Church in Eidenberg and Lynda Charleston who works in a construction company led the medical team of MIBC.

Dr. Tica also said that it was the first time they conducted a medical mission in the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong City where they ministered to 111 inmates. The team already ministered to some 84 inmates in Malabon City Jail where 65 accepted the Lord. Meanwhile in Navotas City Jail, 58 inmates and 15 accepted the Lord Jesus and professed their faith. They also conducted medical treatment to patients in Kalookan City, Malabon City, Sampaloc, Manila and Tanay, Rizal.

The Medical Mission which started from March 14 is expected to last until April 25, 2009. Meanwhile, MIBC is scheduled to conduct a National Conference on the theme: “Working, Waiting & Watching for the Coming of Christ” from April 21-23, 2009 expected to be attended by all their missionaries and pastors. MIBC will also turn 32 on April 26, 2009.
