Congo, AFRICA – A ONE AND HALF YEAR OLD TOT

congo1suffering from cleft abandoned by a heartless mother in a flea market in Congo was left to die but miraculously found by a Filipino Baptist missionary recently. Dr. Felicidad Felicilda, a medical practitioner and a surgeon by profession from Talisay Cebu, who turned to serve God as a missionary in this poor country took pity of the child, brought him to his place and nourished him. Soon after, Dr Felicilda performed a successful cleft surgery on the child. The Samaritan doctor reported that in Congo, a child born with a physical deformity is considered to be a curse and so most of them are thrown elsewhere to die rather than live and bring further misery to the family.congo2

“Ï took pity on the child and convinced the administration of the University Hospital here to make me perform a cleft lip surgery to demonstrate to their doctors, on the condition that they will not charge for the operation. God is good, they permitted me to do the operation and it was successful. Meanwhile, when reunited with her child, the tearful and repentant mother was so thankful and overwhelmed by the turn of events.
To them it is a miracle to see a once deformed child looking normal later. They were all very happy and we were able to share the Gospel to the mother of the boy and to her family. All of them received the Lord as their Savior. To God be the glory, great things He hath done!”
Dr Felicidad, is a missionary sent out by Cebu Bible Baptist Church led by Dr Armie F. Jesalva who is a medical doctor himself but has devoted his whole life in the ministry as a faithful man of God. (pr romy sison)
