NOW WE BELONG

God claimed us His sons while we were sinners
Christ called us friends while we were servants
Adopted and known as His own
Now we belong

Back then we were called God’s enemies
But Christ gave us a new identity
Clothe by His love, He made us belong
Into His family, we are to grow strong

A few were chosen, you and I were called
To live in service, to share God’s Word
To brightly shine in a sin-fractured world
As we carry The Light through our actions and words

What grace to be loved and valued
So much ‘we were bought and treasured
Safe in God’s arms, we are unmoved
With the promise of a heavenly hope

No sum can afford, who’d know the real worth
Of knowing the truth and having God’s word
Of being God’s child, of being His own
Thank God we are His, and we’ll always belong

“…when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son…
being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” - Romans 5:10
