The word “Synoptic” comes from two Greek words meaning “syn” (together) and “optic” (eye), in other words, seeing together through the same eye. Three of the Gospels constitute the Synoptic Gospels, namely Matthew, Mark and Luke. The reason for this is because these three share a lot of common material. The Gospel of John on the other is quite different, and seems to share material unique to itself.

IT WAS last Wednesday Midweek Service when we were reminded anew from God’s Word of the need to be always faithful.

Faithfulness is a trait that is sadly lacking in many believers today. When we survey the Scriptures, we find that God puts a premium on our faithfulness.

San Jose Del Monte City, BULACAN - THE BETHANY BAPTIST MISSION led by a youthful pastor in Barangay San Martin, Sapang Palay, this city recently celebrated her 2nd Year Founding Anniversary with a shower of blessings.

SAN LEANDRO,CALIFORNIA - AT LEAST 90 campers joined the International Bible Baptist Church (IBBC) Family Camp which is annually hosted by IBBC Main Congregation, in San Leandro, California under lead pastor Dr. Hernes M. Abante. It was held recently at Redwood Glen, a Baptist Camp and Conference Center in California. The 5-day camp was held from July 27 – 31, 2009 representing 8 IBBC Congregations such as those from IBBC Canada, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Sunnyville, and Concord, California. The annual family camp is being done as a yearly respite not only to energize the believers both physically and spiritually, but it aims to develop love among the brethren, respect and strengthen the camaraderie in the church.

When the MC has 20 or more families saved and baptized locally, is financially stable, and has developed a full program for all the members such as adult, children, music, soul-winning, discipleship, youth, ushering, it can then become an Independent Local IBBC Church upon the decision of, and recommendation of the Senior Pastor to the Mother Church. An assessment has to be done and the conditions given must be met within two years. There must also be a Mission Pastor who is qualified to handle the congregation, called and ordained by the Mother Church.

EVERYONE wants to be successful in life. That is why people invest their time and effort to attain higher education. Parents invest their resources for the education of their children. They want their children to be doctors or lawyers someday. That is why in the Philippines, parents would sell their properties which perhaps they inherited from their forefathers, just so their children will be able to be successful in their education and thus be “successful” in their chosen careers.

I have just read the sentencing of Bernard Madoff now considered the most reviled person in the business world. The Federal Judge sentenced him to 150 years in prison for what he called an “extra-ordinarily evil,” multibillion-dollar scam that victimized charities, celebrities, pension funds and average investors world-wide. He was guilty of embezzling US$13 billion from thousands of investors.

The world has two time measuring cycles, the sun and the moon. The sun takes some 365 and a quarter days to make a yearly cycle while the moon, on the other hand, makes a cycle every 29 and a half days. This means that it is more complicated to measure years using the lunar cycle.
The world is divided as to how to use these two cycles. The western world uses the solar year, while the Muslim world (and some other non-Muslim countries) uses the lunar year.

TRUE CHRISTIANITY is always God-centered, God-concentrated, God-controlled and God-conscious. Jesus Christ is our God and Creator who in His love for us went to Calvary and died for our sins. Col. 1 16-17; Titus 2: 13-14; 2 Cor. 5: 14-15; (John 1: 1-4, 9-10, 12).
