LIFE IS A TEST AND LIFE IS A TRUST.

God tests us to trust HIM in trials. God trusts us to remember HIM in prosperity.

You pass both and there’s nothing you can handle.

God is leading you through this experience just as surely as He led the Israelites through their disappointment.

The fact is the greatest successes in life are often followed by failure and the greatest services in life are often followed by forgetfulness but the greatest shortages in life are often followed by fullness.

And Elim is just a way down the road. So you keep on going.

Has something that was once so sweet in your life gone sour? And it’s bitter now? And you don’t like the taste of it?

Maybe it’s your marriage. Maybe it’s your job. “I just can’t stand it any more! I hate it! I hate to get up in the morning and go to work.” Maybe it’s your health. Maybe it’s a relationship. It’s distasteful.

What are you going to do about it? Don’t curse it. Don’t retaliate. Quit trying to get even. Don’t rehearse it. Don’t go over and over in your mind about it. Don’t talk to other people about it. They can’t help it. Don’t rehearse it. Don’t nurse it.

Moses didn’t nurse it or hold on to it. That only increases the hurt if you allow it to infect your life.
Instead, disperse it. Moses cried unto the Lord. Give it to God. “Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.” And let God reverse it.
God will use that disappointment in your life if you will let Him teach got burned. I got burned badly one time. And I will never, ever let another person or another thing or another event burn me again.” So you build a wall around your life and you create a shell. You hibernate.
That’s no way to live. That’s not living, that’s existing. And it’s not God’s will for your life.

What is God’s solution for your bitterness? It is a tree.

And just as God used a tree thousands of years ago to turn bitter into sweet, God took a tree on Mount Calvary and Jesus hung on it — the cross — and He died to save you from your sin, your bitterness, your guilt, your regrets, the disappointments of life, to put a new heart in you.
