“FAITHFULNESS”

IT WAS last Wednesday Midweek Service when we were reminded anew from God’s Word of the need to be always faithful.
Faithfulness is a trait that is sadly lacking in many believers today. When we survey the Scriptures, we find that God puts a premium on our faithfulness. We can see, among others, the strength of faithfulness in Proverbs 13:17 where it says, “A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.” The Bible speaks of the stability and sustenance of faithfulness in Prov.31:23. The Lord surely preserves and rewards the faithful! My dear brethren, the Lord really wants us to be always faithful to Him. He wants us to be faithful in service, in stewardship, in statements, in supporting and strengthening others, in sharing His Message, in small and big things!
As we launch out formally this week, starting tomorrow, our new Values Instruction Class Ministry, let us be always prayerful and faithful even in this ministry to the many school classrooms that God opens for us, and wants us to pursue. It is truly a great
opportunity not only for sharing the Biblical Values, but certainly for Evangelism and Discipleship. The foundation of correct values that we would wish to inculcate in the minds and hearts
of the Elementary and High School students undoubtedly is the very Word of God, personified in the living Word, who is none other but our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What a blessed opportunity to follow God’s leadership in sowing His Word. Let us be aware though of the potential difficulties or oppositions even from some religious groups that would try to hinder or derail such values teaching ministry. We should however be mindful to apply the words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 10:16, “Behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” My dear brethren, let us faithfully do our part in sharing the Word! May we at the same time take to heart God’s promise in Isaiah 55:11, where it assuredly says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”.
