“VISION FOR WORLD MISSIONS”

“Let me see this world dear Lord” was the theme of the 10th World Missions Conference last week in Cebu Bible Baptist Church. Thank God for the privilege to be a part, along with my wife and some Bethany brethren of this another very blessed and fruitful World Missions Conference in Cebu City led by our good friend and strong Missions Partner and Inspirer, Dr.Armie Jesalva. Praise God for some 34 commitments from Bible College students, Church workers, Local Missions and Church Pastors in yielding to the Lord for Foreign fields.

One of the highlights of the Conference was the introduction by Dr. Jack Baskin, with the assistance of Pastor Kent Jesalva, of the “Workers Trained To Evangelize” (WTTE), which is appropriately referred to as the “Next Step” in World Missions pursuit. It is actually the training or equipping of the overseas workers in our Churches and eventually commissioning them to become an extension of the Churches’ ministry in a foreign land. This concept, my dear brethren, is virtually accentuating the need for trained and committed “Tentmaker Missionaries” in the foreign fields. Dr Baskin challenged us from Romans 16 with the 35 overseas workers named therein who have taken part in World Evangelization. This WTTE will be followed through in our 10th World Missions Conference on February 16-18, 2010, with the theme: “Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus”.

My dear brethren, we really need to enlarge our Vision for World Missions. We must see a lost world-beyond our homes, communities, and country. We must see that all men without Christ are perishing, without hope, without peace, and are lost and bound to eternal damnation in hell. We need to see at the same time a sufficient Saviour who has power to save to the uttermost (Heb.7:25-27). Jesus Christ died that all men might be saved who would come unto Him by faith. There is no one too hard nor too degraded for Jesus. Finally, we need to see our place in the Lord’s work. We must have a vision of what we can do. And what we can do, we do!

May we always be available for God to use us in the great harvest field, and faithfully do our part, individually and as a corporate Body, either in or a combination of: praying, giving, sending, and going. My dear brethren, let us do all we can, and do so now!
